One Wellbeing is our wellbeing centre created to support your journey to a healthier, more balanced life. We will be sharing Jonny Wilkinson's curated weekly wellbeing tips. This week we are looking at how you can find inner peace from finding true balance.
One of the most enlightening aspects of health and wellbeing is understanding the difference between forcing things and allowing them to flow effortlessly. This concept is crucial for finding balance in our lives. Many of us mistakenly believe that constant effort and force are the only paths to success. However, true balance often requires recognizing when something should come naturally and when we’re pushing too hard.
The idea is that when we align ourselves with our true desires and match the energy of what we seek, things tend to happen more effortlessly. There is less resistance and friction between what we really want versus what we are actually doing or working towards.
Forcing outcomes can often signal that it’s time to step back and reassess. Instead of struggling, it might be more effective to find a less resistant path. This approach is beautifully illustrated in sports. Watch a seasoned athlete, and you'll notice that their movements seem almost effortless. What appears as ease is actually the result of extensive practice and a deep understanding of the sport. They’ve mastered the art of making complex maneuvers look simple, which is a powerful lesson in balance and natural flow.
Here are a few simple ways you can identify and achieve balance:
1. Self Awareness: By being self aware you are allowing yourself to identify root causes of tension, which gives you an opportunity to realign your inner desires with the outcome.
2. Balanced Routine: Maintaining a balanced routine is key to managing this moving forwards. Be wary of falling into common traps here; such as working late often, overcommitting to social plans or neglecting self care.
3. Healthy Lifestyle Choices: Our physical health underpins everything we work towards mentally, so making sure you are making good decisions with diet and exercise feeds into achieving overall balance.
4. Stress Management Techniques: However balanced we want to become, we will inevitably still face stressors. Learning and mastering techniques that you can use in the moment can really help minimise the disruption of these stressors on your overall wellbeing.
Practicing this mindset can transform how we approach various aspects of life. By focusing on aligning our energy with our goals rather than pushing relentlessly, we open ourselves to a more balanced, harmonious existence. Embracing the effortless nature of balance allows us to experience the magical elements of life and enhances our overall wellbeing.
